What does the future taste like?! Towards a new food system
With winter just round the corner, we’re once again gearing up for lavish Christmas dinners and (un)comfortable gourmet meals with the family. Has the mix of ingredients on the famous grill plate changed at all in recent years? The figures don’t lie: only 4 per cent of our agriculture is organic, and only 5 per cent of the Dutch population eats a vegetarian or vegan diet every day. At the same time, meat substitutes, cultured meat and plant-based innovations are taking off in a big way. That calls for a lively discussion.
What will a regenerative food system look like in 2050? And how do we get everyone on board with a more plant-based diet? Or to put it another way: how do we make the future more appetising for everyone?
Join us for a chat and a taste of how we’re giving the Netherlands a taste of its own medicine. Tonight, we’re taking a break from the GDPR for a while, in favour of a vegan charcuterie platter, spicy anecdotes and deep conversations, just as you’d expect from a good dinner around the table.
Our first guest is Wouter Waayer, a vegan farmer’s son, activist and content creator. Keep an eye on this page for details of the other guests. More to be announced!
