From the Springs to the Waves: Stories of Everlasting Love and life in Palestine
Palestine is a land filled with stories—stories of religion, joy, and more recently, profound pain. The ongoing genocide has brought immense suffering, with its intensity increasing over the past year. Yet, amid this hardship that has been going on over 75 years, stories of hope persist, reminding us of the resilience that keeps the spirit of Palestine alive.
Join us for an interactive storytelling evening where the focus will be on active audience participation. This event offers personal narratives and factual insights, shedding light on the enduring strength of a people who, despite unimaginable loss, continue to keep their love and hope alive.
Let this evening be a powerful reminder that, even in the face of destruction, we can keep our stories and love alive.
The host for the evening will be Sobhi Khatib, a passionate Palestinian storyteller. Ten years ago, he discovered the art of storytelling and has since found a fitting outlet for his enthusiasm for sharing tales. This discovery gave him the perfect reason to take to the stage and share his stories.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to Free Gaza Circus, supporting the future generation of Gazans.
This program is part of the exhibition Gaza is Alive, which is open and free to visit for public 24/7. The exhibition is located at the main IJzijde entrance, below the stairs of Tolhuistuin, and is built to be viewed from the outside-in.
Description of the programme
The evening will begin with a warm welcome and an introduction by Sobhi, who will set the tone for the event. He will lead the storytelling session in a dialogued form, sharing personal stories while encouraging the audience to actively participate by sharing their own experiences, reflections, or questions. The program will include an open floor discussion where attendees can further contribute to the conversation, fostering a collaborative and dynamic exchange. The event will conclude with closing reflections from Sobhi, summarizing the key themes and leaving the audience with a message of hope, love and resilience
