The Sunken Land (Plan D)
Tiffany Pergens and Rémon Mulder. Rotterdam, 2019.
A warning: we cannot keep winning the battle against water - because, history shows, water will always come back, as long as we underestimate its power and as long as we put economic interests first. Only the threat of an unprecedented catastrophe can make us aware of what awaits us if we do not find a solution to the consequences of climate change now. Think back to the Sint Elisabethflood of 1421. The Netherlands flooded like a bathtub, daily life was disrupted, people had to leave their homes. If the sea level continues to rise, more of the land will be claimed by the water, and the damage is incalculable.
