They Are Gutting a Body of Water is een eclectische shoegazeband uit Philadelphia, die ooit begon als soloproject van Douglas Dulgarian en uitgroeide tot een sterke viermansformatie. Hun geluid is een electronische, ambient-achtige interpretatie van shoegaze, doorspekt met invloeden uit clubgenres. Met albums zoals 'gestures been', 'Destiny XL', 'lucky styles', en het binnenkort uit te komen 'Lotto', bouwt de viermansband gestaag aan een grensverleggende positie binnen de hernieuwde shoegaze-beweging.
