For music lovers, local residents and all visitors to the Garden, we present free live music every Sunday from May through August during Sunday Sounds' Small Garden Concerts. And like everything else on the Tolhuistuin grounds, our housemate Excelsior Recordings has prepared an eclectic mix full of musical discoveries this year;
From the remarkable krautrock of Bhajan Bhoy and the weird-indie pop of Thor Kissing, to the soothing sounds combined with spoken word by Ingmar Heytze and Peruvian music influences of Saphie Wells.
In addition, every other week you can discover up-and-coming new talent, specially selected by talent developer Lele Studios. So one Sunday you can enjoy renowned artists for free. And the other Sunday you can discover new music and spot young talent. Always a reason to come by and enjoy in the sunshine with a drink.

About our event partners
Amsterdam-based independent record label founded in 1996 by Ferry Roseboom and Frans Hagenaars.
On June 3, 1996, EXCEL96001 was released. The very first catalog issue of the very first album released by Excelsior Recordings. This album was Clean, the acclaimed debut album by the band Caesar. Now, almost twenty-five years and over 500 releases later, Excelsior Recordings is still doing the same thing: releasing records they like. From Spinvis to Tim Knol, from Triggerfinger to Jacco Gardner, from Danny Vera to Sofie Winterson, Johan, Daryll-Ann, Scram C Baby, Canshaker Pi, Moss, The Kik and so on.
