ANBI information
Tolhuistuin Foundation is a public benefit organisation (ANBI) and is counted among cultural charities by the tax authorities.
Statutory objective
The aim of the Foundation is to organise cultural activities on the Tolhuistuin complex and its immediate surroundings in Amsterdam and to maintain and operate a cultural centre and everything related or beneficial to this in the broadest sense of the word.
The Foundation seeks to achieve this goal by, among other things:
- developing, producing and organising cultural activities in the broadest sense of the word;
- obtaining financial resources for activities aimed at achieving the Foundation's objective establishing and maintaining an organisation to ensure the implementation of the objectives;
- cooperating with cultural, social, educational and/or media partners to achieve the objectives; any other lawful activities that serve these objectives.
Board
The foundation has a board consisting of:

Board members are appointed by the board for a maximum period of three years, at the end of which they are immediately eligible for reappointment for another three-year period. In exceptional cases, a board member may be reappointed more than once.
Remuneration policy
Board members perform their duties unpaid and are reimbursed for travel expenses. In its remuneration policy, the foundation follows the collective labour agreement (CAo Nederlandse Podia) and endorses it in its employment contracts. Freelancers are also paid in line with the standard in the CAO Nederlandse Podia.
